Merren Tait - Miss Spell Proofreading

  • Proofreading

Literature and language are passions of mine, and I have an excellent knowledge of the mechanics of English. I have spent ten years in the classroom teaching high school English up to year 13 and eight years as a public librarian. My qualifications include a first-class honours degree in English, a Diploma in Teaching (Secondary), and a Diploma in Information and Library Studies. My aim is to make it easy for you to produce polished, easy-to-read work.

I am currently writing two novel-length works of fiction, so I understand how precious a manuscript is to an author and the time and love that has been dedicated to it. I will treat your work with the care and respect it deserves.

I offer a 10% discount to RWNZ and NZSA (PEN NZ Inc) members on my hourly rate.

Nikki Crutchley – Crucial Corrections

  • Proofreading
  • Copy editing

I have a Diploma in Publishing, Editing and Proofreading from NZIBS as well as a Diploma in Library and Information Studies from the Open Polytechnic and a Bachelor of Social Sciences from Waikato University.

I am happy to proofread/copy edit anything from a newsletter, magazine article or thesis to a manuscript (fiction or non-fiction). I check for typographical errors, grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, consistent use of language, style and layout (including headings, pagination, and fonts).

My aim is to make you feel confident in sending your piece of work to a publisher.

In the past I've proofread manuscripts, Phd theses, assignments, and newsletters, as well as journals such as ‘Public Sector’ and ‘PSA’. I currently proofread for the Waikato/Bay of Plenty magazine ‘Nourish’.

I pride myself on a quick and efficient turnaround along with a competitive hourly rate.
