Graeme Robson

Graeme Robson is a retired hill country farmer of 20 years experience. He is also a successful deerstalker and a great lover of the mountains and back country. Over the last ten years since he retired has written six books of his experiences in the back country and on the farm.

Microfilm Digital Print, proprietors of printabook.co.nz handled five of these books from manuscript to binding stage, totaling nearly 2000 books in all. The following are the titles of his books along with some brief notes on each.

"Amuri Hunter" 1998. His first book was published by Reeds. The theme of this book was "from son to son". Graeme's memoirs of his hunting days from when he went on his first hunt at the age of five years to when he took his own son on his first hunt 30 years later.

"Wait for Daybreak" 2000. More hunting stories that did not fit with the Amuri Hunter format. The theme was "forty years in a sportsman's paradise".

"In the Shadow of the Mountain" 2002. Stories about hill country farming and land development in the Amuri basin. Telling stories and introducing people who were real characters and were in danger of being forgotten.

"Wait for Daybreak Volume 2" 2005. More hunting and dog stories. "You may have hundreds of hunts, but only a few will make a story."

"Following the Sons of Invermark" 2008. The story of John Forbes. One of our greatest deerstalkers and featuring over 70 historic full page photographs of the mountains and the men who sought a great trophy in the wilds of Otago and Westland.

"Following the Sons of Invermark Second Edition" 2009. A limited and numbered collector's edition of the John Forbes story, featuring more photographs and an expanded text. Produced with a hard cover binding.

Graeme says:

During my association with Microfilm Digital Print I have found their work and attention to detail is excellent. Advice is given, deadlines are met on time and the finished product is all that could be desired. Producing a good book cover is essential to selling a book. Reproducing old photographs to a legible standard can be a difficult task. Their staff handle this work with skill. The counter staff are always attentive and ready to solve your problems. Overseeing and directing the production is Nelson Hubber whose affable expertise will ensure a good result. Microfilm Digital Print are the proprietors of this site www.printabook.co.nz
