Belinda O’Keefe Copy Editing & Proofreading Services

• Copy editing
• Proofreading
• Typing

Belinda is a professional copy editor and proofreader with a Diploma in Book Editing, Proofreading and Publishing.

She has experience working with New Zealand writers and has worked on various manuscripts for members of the South Island Writers’ Association. She also proofreads written material for local businesses.

Belinda will provide a high quality, reliable, confidential copy editing and proofreading service with a fast turnaround. She strives to produce clear, concise documents, without changing the intent of the writer.

Services include:
• Spelling • Punctuation • Sentence structure • Consistency
• Grammar • Format • Style • Typographical errors

In addition to these services Belinda is also available to type manuscripts.

“I was delighted with the proof reading and copy editing that Belinda O’Keefe did on the first chapter of a novel I am currently writing. She found a myriad of tiny typos I had missed in my several readings of the piece; that showed a fine attention to detail. Also, she corrected some obvious infelicities of expression and made sensitive suggestions for changing some of the words and phrases that she considered, rightly, could do with improvement. I accepted them all and was impressed by the attention she gave, not just to spelling and grammar, but to the story I was trying to tell.”

'O for a Book and a shady nook,

Adrienne Morris - AM Proofreading and Editing

• Proofreading
• Copy Editing
• Checking and Correction
• Layouts
• Photo Restoration

It is not easy for anyone who writes to see their own errors. And it is so easy to make mistakes - and we all make them. Some are fairly unimportant, some are just typos, but some can be disastrous and can adversely affect your whole document. Most people think they have got their work 'perfect' and are quite surprised when a proofreader makes a lot of corrections, but at the same time, are pleased to have the errors picked up by fresh, impartial eyes before going to print.

Adrienne has a love of English and studied Latin to university level, giving her a superb grounding in English grammar, so she decided to study for a Diploma in Book Editing, Proofreading and Publishing, which she gained in 2008.

Her services are offered not only to publishing houses, but also to private and corporate sectors. She is a self-motivated and dedicated worker, with a love of challenging and interesting work; she has a wide general knowledge and good business skills, has great attention to detail, and also typesetting, layout, photographic and photo restoration abilities - to offer her clients.

Adrienne is a member of the New Zealand Society of Authors.

She loves working with writers and authors, helping them to add that final bit of polish to their book, so that their ideas are communicated in the clearest way, and the finished product is as professional as it can be.

Sue Hall

Proofreading
Copy editing
Rewriting

I have 14 years’ experience in freelance copy editing and proofreading and have worked with book publishers such as Hachette Livre, Pearson Education, Macmillan Education, Random House, New Holland Publishers and Renaissance Publishing. As an author of six published books I know the trials and joys of the writing process and enjoy working with authors and writers to achieve the best product.

For me, copy editing is a process which corrects the grammar and improves the readability of an author’s work but does not change his or her essential style or content. The proofreading process ensures a final professional polish.

Having worked on a freelance basis for many businesses and associations such as The New Zealand Packaging Council, Plastics New Zealand, Waitakere City Council, Northland Polytechnic, Shiftwork Services and more, I can also help you with document editing and proofreading. These might include industry and association reports, advertising documents, booklets or catalogues. A professional document is free of errors, consistent in layout and style and easily navigable.
